The best way to explore a city is to NOT plan
Just Explore and discover

Journey route
London-Bengaluru-London

I traveled to London for work, with only weekends free to explore the city and its surroundings. When time is short, the instinct is to plan tightly—checking off landmarks like the London Eye or Westminster Abbey, making sure you capture that perfect photo for Instagram or Facebook. I’ve done this many times myself.
But as I look back on my trips across Europe, the moments that truly stayed with me weren’t the ones I planned down to the last detail. They were the spontaneous ones—wandering through a neighborhood, stumbling upon hidden alleys or cozy cafés whose names I’ll never remember, yet whose atmosphere gave me pure joy.
One day, I bought a travel day pass for the Underground and buses; it's available in most of the underground metro stations and all overground stations. I hopped off whenever something caught my eye, walked along the Thames, ate chocolate-covered strawberries, sat on a bench when I felt tired, returned to my hotel when I needed rest, and set out again when I felt like it. That freedom—no rush, no checklist—was priceless.

Without the pressure of monuments, you notice life unfolding around you: a family playing with their dog in Hyde Park, people savoring bagels and coffee in a quiet corner café. You linger where your heart wants, and move on when it doesn’t. You may not end up with the iconic photos everyone expects, but you’ll carry something far richer—an unforgettable experience shaped by serendipity.
